New South Wales

New South Wales is Australia’s most populated state, being home to over 6.7 million people.  It was the first Australian state to be colonised by Europeans, and the pioneering wine regions of the Hunter Valley, Mudgee and the Riverina are still going strong today.

There are 14 different wine regions within New South Wales, stretching from Hastings River on the northern coast to Perricoota, along the northern border of the Murray River, yet the wine consumption in New South Wales still surpasses that of the state’s wine production.
