Western Australia

Encompassing approximately one-third of the Australian continent, Western Australia is the nation’s largest state.  Despite this, its population is less than 1.8 million, making it one of the country’s least populated states, only surpassed by Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory.

The state’s wine regions, dotted mainly around the south western corner of Western Australia, only lay claim to approximately 7% of Australia’s vineyards, but still catch the attention of many media outlets due to its isolation and beauty.  Of particular note is the region of Margaret River, whose status as one of Australia’s most popular destinations continues to grow both nationally and internationally
